7700 would be better, 14500 is using Intel 12th gen's Golden Cove P-cores.
You need a 13600K or higher to get the Raptor Cove P-cores that are worth buying.

Gamers will have access to MAX OLED monitors when they're ready.

Here's a comment from the resident monitor schizo, panel/monitor is his specialty and he usually makes the best monitor recommendations in /pcbg/.
He's answering a question about how long MAX OLED monitors are away from commercial launch.
https://desuarchive.org/g/thread/103878544/#103880379
Here is his comment about the progress made for IPS monitor manufacturing, it's mostly about development costs.

This honestly .
The roadmap for their Wayland stack looks alright and with AMD not releasing high end cards and just generally performing worse Nvidia's small disadvantage in Vulkan will be dwarfed by their advantage in raw rendering power.

So a waterblocked GPU that never sees above 50C should last forever right?

It's probably a prototype for a hypothetical Ti since I can't imagine that the, what, 12% increase in cores, and other shit would necessitate like a 40% increase in power draw. It is probably more than a single 600 watt though, given how close Nvidia is riding line already.

Yes, that board is probably testing the reliability of the VRMs and the fully enabled GB202 GPU operating at extreme loads.
If NVIDIA's selling a consumer-grade 2-slot video card that can draw up to 600W, this is the kind of reliability test I would expect.
They are testing with a fully enabled die because it will stress the board components harder than an ES 5090.

There was no Super refresh of low end RTX 40, so it could be that we'll see better price/perf out of low end RTX 50. The 5070 is basically a 4070 Ti with MFG for $50 below 4070 Super MSRP (4070 Ti and 4070 Super being very close to each other in performance). Kind of makes sense that Nvidia didn't release a Super refresh on their lowest margin cards (the 4060 and 4060 Ti), and in an unfortunate way it makes sense that one of the best Super cards, the 4070 Super, is barely getting beaten by the 5070. Nvidia has a chance to release a decently received low end (considering there's no Super to compare them to), either now or with a possible RTX 50 Super refresh if the initial cards don't get the 3 GB modules. I don't think the 3060 was that good, VRAMeming aside, as it was barely better than the 2060. Having said that, low end does move slower. In my opinion you're looking at a 5060 Ti at the minimum as a worthwhile upgrade. 2060 to 4070 was a 2x upgrade, so really you should be looking at the 5070 based on performance, but your budget is probably too low unless you bought the 3060 at the height of the mining craze
>>103981085
I think there's a good chance that one comes out as a Super refresh. But keep in mind that you'll only be a year out from RTX 60 (with a manufacturing leap) when the RTX 50 Super refresh (if one exists) comes out

I'll probably have to wait another cycle or 2 for nvidia to release something actually worth buying

NVIDIA can't be any clearer that they don't want people to keep their $200~300 card for over five years or so.
They'll keep selling 8GB, -60 tier cards until a new console generation raises the system requirement for the newest ports.
They'd rather sell GeForce NOW subscriptions which are practically sold out worldwide.

You'll be waitingTM at least for real PS6 games to come out for that to be the case. And even then the current 24 GB cards (especially from Retardeon) will suck for those games

Absolutely correct. From Nvidia's perspective, the efficiency gains are insane. Why serve one gaymer with a $300 card when you can serve 10 with a $300 card but each still has to pay the $300?

Arc Celestial could be the start of something good, reliable, and competitive.
Battlemage design had to begin before Alchemist's launch, so it will share some of the design inefficiencies.
Intel's APUs will also benefit from this, possibly even more if there's enough demand to design such a chip.

I was referring to the GTX 970. Doesn't even have VRR unless you have full G-sync. It's been too old to be useful (especially at 1440p) for a while now IMO. Not saying someone can't find a use for it, but you're either playing old or indie games. GTX 970 is weaker than the 1060 3 GB

If you're gaming that's one of the best options currently, unless of course you mostly play extremely CPU heavy games or you're getting a high end card like a 5080. CPU can generally be understood as insurance on your GPU if you're gaming

In general, I think the way graphics cards are reviewed needs to be completely rethought. I understand reviewing PC hardware is generally a thankless and probably underpaid job, but most review outlets are far too lazy. It's better to review cards against what they're designed for, not against so called max settings (and reviewers haven't even been testing regularly with max settings as default since RT debuted)

if you have something like the Lancool 206 it has a pair of fans above the PSU/storage compartment that blow directly into the path of the GPU's fans so that bottom fan can feed those

If it's outdated, use the CPU & memory-less BIOS update feature (Flash BIOS) to update it to the latest stable version before you install the CPU & memory.
If you're worried about fucking the board up, use the stock BIOS.

Well, they're kinda right. I'm going to build my PC in april-may, hope the cards are going to be widely accessible by then and I won't wait for restock or fight for them with scalpers. Otherwise I'll just buy the discounted 7900XT and call it a day.

It is a massive defeat for AMD to wait until March for the 9070/9070XT, the worst marketing I've ever seen from a public facing company, it's on par with the Xbox One defeat when Sony destroyed them.

I wouldn't mind waiting up until march but if :
- AMD fumbles and delays again
- the 9070 doesn't fit in my case/board
it would basically be the worst case scenario and I don't know wether to wait or not because of this, it feels like a gamble

I wouldn't trust that at all, it being a Microshart feature it's bound to not work correctly. Just have the library folders be on a separate drive, also install your games/apps on a separate drive. Much safer and it's what non-retarded people have been doing for decades.

I'm warning Anons to not trust Microshart features. They're always a gamble on if they'll work correctly or not, maybe it worked for you but it won't for everyone. Separating your library folders and games/apps onto a different drive is by far the safest solution and has 0% chance of fucking anything up, versus the 50% chance of relying on the in-place upgrade feature Microshart supplies.
>inb4 le evidence????
The entire history of Windows is my evidence.

You won't feel any less bad.
Everything is "obsolete" by 5 years, you start feeling the urge after 3. Atleast that's for me.
If there is one solace it's that it's easier than ever to stay ahead of the curve, if your actually set to buy a 7900XTX, you know that it will provide a better experience than the very vast majority of power gimped laptop users and most desktop users for years and years to come.
I got rid of my 1080 ti not even a year ago, people play shit joyfully with a lot less.

I don't believe any of the 9070 performance leaks. You dont wait for your only 2 competitors to announce and release thier cards before you even "officially" announce yours (while retailers have your cards ready to sell)
The 9070 must be such a dumpster fire piece of fucking garbage that they were afraid to show it at CES and are delaying it 3 months.
4080 performance = bullshit.
4070 ti super ray tracing performance = bullshit.
If it were remotely true, there would have been some official presentation by now to show the world thier progress. Even to build anticipation to stop consumers from buying your competitors product.
OK they did give people slides showing partner cards and some other useless info, but they were afraid to show them at CES.
You dont wait for your only 2 competitors to announce and release thier cards before you even officially announce yours while stores already have your product ready to sell.
BTW, I am an AMD fanboy i suppose. My last 5 cards have been AMD. I got a 7800 xt a year ago and it's maybe 5% better than the 6800 non xt that it replaced. What a joke.
I was going to get a 9070 xt because i run a 3840 x 1600 ultrawide and the 7800 xt barely runs it with fsr enabled. I believe the new cards will maybe be 5% to 10% better in raster with a slightly larger ray tracing bump.
I think my best bet is to find a used 4070 ti super or 4080 once the new Nvidia cards release. There should be a huge number of people selling 40 series cards in the next month or so I'll just wait it out.

Got to be really cheap, bare minimum 30% off retail, better 50%. Not usually worth it unless you're buying some niche, like a 3090 for muh VRAM or a 2060 Super for low end. You get no warranty, the card could be noisy, etc. Too much hassle potential for too little reward
Make sure you get an ATX 3.X PSU

While I don't trust the leaked benchmarks, going by their own slides they were aiming for the XT to be about as powerful as the 7900XT and for the non-XT to be more in line with the 7800XT/7900GRE. If rumors are right, the aborted launch is mostly due to inappropriate pricing compared to Nvidia, which is especially bad for AMD since they already sold cards to retailers at the original planned price and are going to have to issue mass rebates. In all likelihood, they're waiting for 5070 and 5070 Ti reviews to drop so they can barely undercut them as usual.

Day ? Of asking anons that are the owners of the PG32UCDM if you can continually run the panel (non stop use) with "oled care pixel refresh reminder set to OFF" for over 16 hours without a forced pixel refresh or not
Most (all) other version of the 4k240 32" QDOLED panels have forced refreshes after this time, various other issues like not even able to turn off the pixel move feature
if asus does not force refreshes it might be the only viable and best panel in terms of features out of the oled panels
I would pay 40% more for a functional firmware and a better monitor compared to the other manufacturers
no one literally covers this
if all oleds are shit I'm buying a OLED TV next if they are better or going back to LCD, I Know you didn't ask nor care, thanks for reading my blog

that said its probably hit or miss. i dont think id buy an used nvidia card, especially high end, because its probably more likely for those to go in datacenters or miner racks due to popularity.

I know asus firmware is a buggy mess, but it's better it does a refresh every time it sleeps and/or if it does not force a refresh every 16 hours of continual use
I checked the OSD on it and it does not have a counter that I could find maybe I missed it, of hours in use/pixel refreshes
maybe I missed it
I don't care if it burns in or overly wears the panel, literally don't care, as long as it's not annoying
all the oled monitors firmware is a mess, but anti consumer annoying features is a no go
>>103983014
you need moisture and a microfiber cloth to remove splotches on the screen though
very visible on glossy, will also look like you got a jack or dent in your monitor
one benefit of having a glass coating or a matte coating, way less fragile

I still don't understand why so many people are looking at a slide that has a title in bold all-caps loudly declaring that it is about branding as an expected performance chart especially when AMD blatantly avoided saying anything remotely concrete about performance or specs anywhere in the slide deck.

it's funny because despite all the bitching about upscaling, frame gen and raytracing AMD hasn't been able to appeal to people who don't want that
you'd think AMD could make cards that are less 'gimmicky' than nvidia for less money with way better performance and capitalize on that side of the market but nope, and now it's too late for that
all that's left is a few sad AMD fanboys coping about how AMD is better but normal people don't care

That's assuming first-time budget builders are religiously listening to the VRAM schizos instead of looking up Fortnite/COD benchmarks on youtube.
To the first time budget builder, the B580 is competing against the 7600 XT and later the 9060 when it arrives. Even in the worst case scenario, 9070 won't be nearly in the same tier.

To take AMD's place in the mid-range, Intel would need to release a mid-range GPU first and foremost.

That alone would not help them compete in a market they're literally absent from. Nvidia would just get a 100% mid-range market share because, again (I'm starting to think that you might be retarded), not a single mid-range Arc GPU exists right now.

>fix Taskbar, remove search bar crap
