Sli was legit tech, except nothing ever supported it and nothing ever will.

At this point Im 100% sure multiple gpu setups were killed on purpose.

Imagine you could put two 4060s in a pc and have as much or more fps than the cucks who paid 3k for a 4090/5090. Nobody would buy them top tier gpus, njudea would have to cut prices, jensen would get a stroke.

VR would be a legit reason to bring it back, but its not gonna happen anytime soon, if at all.

>SLI had problems with microstutter.
I used to rock a 2x1080ti system and even the games that officially supported sli worked better without it. It was a stutterfest and usually the 2nd card sat there with 10% load.

Honestly the only relevant usecase would be vr. There is no better and more obvious solution to those performancehog applications, but spaghetti code devs gonna spaghetti code. Optimization wasnt a priority since pcs became strong as fuck. AI cant take over programming soon enough.

Reporter: I have a question regarding gamers and consumers. We noticed a significant gap between the RTX 5090 and 5080. The number of CUDA cores in the 5090 is more than twice that of the 5080, and the price has doubled as well. Why did you create such a large difference between the flagship and the near-flagship models?

Jensen Huang: The reason is simple. Once someone wants the best product, they will always choose the best. You know, the market isn’t so segmented. And our enthusiasts, if they want the best, they won’t settle for something slightly better or save $100 by choosing something a bit worse. They just want the best.

Of course, $2,000 is not a small amount, and it’s certainly a high value. But keep in mind that this technology is being used in your home theater-level PC setup. And that PC—where you’ve probably already invested around $10,000 in your monitor and sound system—will definitely need the best GPU. So many of our customers are simply after the absolute best.

I watched it but his argument is not a good one. Honestly if you need to buy a CPU the only one worth buying right now is the 9800X3D. The others are simply not worth buying. The only other CPUs that would make more sense to buy are more expensive ones for use in computers that will literally not be used for any kind of gaming at all because they are render machines or video editing rigs that need as many cores as possible. For literally everyone else the only CPU worth buying is the 9800X3D and everything else is bad value.

Reporter: After seeing the performance of the 5070 last night, which is comparable to the 4090, and with the price dropping so much, it’s really exciting. What are your expectations for the 60 series?

Jensen Huang: Last night, we released four RTX Blackwell GPUs, and even the lowest-performing one surpassed the strongest GPUs on the market today. That’s truly incredible. This really demonstrates the power of AI technology. Without innovations like AI, Tensor Cores, and DLSS 4, we couldn’t achieve this level of performance. As for the 60 series, I don’t have anything particularly special to say.

5060 BOYS IT'S NOT LOOKING GOOD

IT'S CLEAR EVEN WITH INNOVATIONS LIKE AI TENSOR CORES AND DLSS4 IT STILL WON'T BE ENOUGH TO BEAT THE 4090

I posted in a previous thread but this shit has been bugging me for a while now.

I've had this build for about 5-6 years now and I never have figured out why this issue keeps occurring.

It's genuinely the only thing I've ever not solved in my life.

Sometimes (randomly without reason), my PC won't POST and gets stuck on CPU debug led (red light).

I've tried pretty much everything, reseat cpu, tighten/loosen cooler, reseat ram, changed xmp profiles, I have latest bios version, all my drivers up to date, I've even tried different cpu power cables.

Pretty much the only thing I haven't done yet is reset CMOS, but I'm not sure if that will work.

Any anons have any ideas? been dealing with this for a while now, but the PC works great and has zero stability issues.

Generally speaking a mid-range card from MSI (Gaming Trio or Ventus), Asus (Tuf/Prime), Gigabyte (Gaming OC) will do fine.

Genuinely dumb question.

Just as an example, the high end MSI and Asus cards are probably going to be close to a grand over MSRP. If you're going to spend that much on an air cooled GPU, why not just buy the AIO version that's going to probably be of a comparative price? I don't think they will jack up the AIO version of the Astral an additional 40% over the cost of the air cooled version.

Do AIO GPUs just not offer any real benefit in performance, or do they fail too frequently and make water go everywhere so only retards who don't know any better buy them? Or is it some sort of situation where a small-form factor build is trying to stick to one, maybe two slots at most?

What usually happens to the used market around the launch of a new gen? I assume buying right now would be stupid. I imagine there'll be a glut of 40x0 and 30x0 cards, but would you expect this to result in immediately lower prices? What about older cards like the 20x0?

No you can always pull your monitor closer to you to increase the pixels per degree of immersion, but if the pixel density is too poor to begin with the most you can do is sit further away to mask the low clarity in which case you are effectively normalizing for the viewing distance of a smaller display. Maybe if 8K OLEDs ever get here.

It is but you can charge what you want when you make the best. To be frank, "best case fan" is somewhat of a category error.. It's like asking for the "best alternator" - does such a thing exist, producing a perfect 12V from 1000RPM to redline? Probably. Would you even notice it? Not a chance. Case fans mostly just need to push air and not make any weird noises. It's not a hard job so some midrange fan will do just fine.

Later I went to 165Hz as well, which was also a very nice upgrade but in my opinion it was not as impactful as increasing the screen resolution and panel technology. I went from 1080p TN panel to 1440p IPS. If you already have a 1080p IPS panel then maybe the switch to 1440p IPS won't be as drastic.

Do you figure 4k monitors start to make sense when you get to 50xx type gpus?

You either run the games at 1080p or at 1080p with dlss perf mode and video content and text reading benefits from 4k somewhat

that's not pixels tho, and i have literally no way to go to a brick and mortar store test one out so i can decide if i want higher ppi or not (it's all 1080p trash in this second world shithole country)

140ppi on 32" monitor is plenty. Most people here are happy with their 110ppi 1440p monitors, tho thats mostly in gaming use.

one forced pixel refresh every 16hours might be a deal breaker
glossy qdoled is great and fine sure, but some how I still feel it's not that big next thing I've been expecting some how
idk, do I have unrealistic standards and expectations? have we hit tech plateau?
can't make up my mind if it's worth

I had one tiny bug or ant get into a monitor once. Thankfully I was able to direct him by shadowing him down and out of the screen.

only if pulling an allnighter
or if the firmware failed to launch the refresh while sleeping/no signal
having to micromanage these things to not trigger while you are doing something really triggers my autism

If you want to see actual prices, check ebay sold listings. It's probably worth $20, which basically means you're just giving it away
