Just rewatched Wilder/Spilka and i gotta tell you that was a fixed fight. Spilka did this over the top hostility act before the fight but when they were in the ring he broke character during the instructions. Then throughout the fight, you could see Wilder was wide open for the straight left and Spilka would land it whenever he wanted to but clearly held back and let Wilder dance around and survive. Spilka also was extremely kind in clinches and on the inside often tapping Wilders back or shoulder to "agree" to back off and reset. Then suddenly in the 9th round he gets caught by a punch that never came close to landing all fight.
Wilders career is rife with this kind of weirdo shit that doesn't add up. The most obvious is the Malik Scott fight, but the Luis Ortiz fights were really bad, and the rematch with Stiverne looked like a total dive.
