The data on my android phone randomly stops working when I set the Private DNS to dns.adguard-dns.com
Checked online an I ams eeing alternatives to be used as dns.adguard-dns.com or dns-family,adguard,com. So which one is the best to use? Is there a better Private DNS that is freely available?

I have recorded some videos using OBS. I'm using multiple audio channels (1 for mic, 1 for desktop audio) and when I run the video file I can select each individual track or a third audio track that is both of them put together.
My mic audio was much lower than I wanted it to be. What would be the best [free/easily pirated] application to let me edit the individual audio tracks and/or do volume mixing? I know that I can set the volume mixing when recording which will help me for future recordings but I would prefer to be able to use what I already have.

My new speakers (Creative Pebble V3) have a tiny fade when unpausing music. It's whatever, but I noticed there's certain music where they'll fade out (though not fully) and back in. What could be causing this? I don't remember messing with any settings.

Personally I would extract the quiet audio track using ffmpeg, amplify it with audacity and then use ffmpeg again to add the track back in. If you care about audio quality you should just record again, though.

No, I am connected to home wifi. I recently found out about configuring Private DNS for adblocking with dns.adguard.com. But out of the blue it stops working after couple of days and it says couldn't connect.
Seems like these things can go down anytime. So looking for a reliable url for adblocking

Interesting. I doubt it's AdGuard, but if you want you can try LibreDNS or OpenDNS (they also serve adblocking endpoints).

can anyone explain some retarded tier questions to me
ve been out of the loop in the last 8 years with regard to monitors and graphical advancements but with a 4090 and an oled monitor in front of me i have read a bunch of shit about: hdr, g-sync, dldsr, dlss and lossless scaling
so as i understand i should always keep hdr on for games to look better? also do i need to always keep g-sync on as well? (my monitor supports it)
also to make gaymz look better do i always have to have dldsr and dlss in nvidia control panel turned on or do i only do it for specific games?
also do i plug in my cable into hdmi or dp?
my monitor is the 271qrx if that matters
is there something else other than these that I should look out for?

On my Pi, I'm running qbittorrent, openvpn, jellyfin, and docker with the following containers: portainer, flaresolverr, sonarr, prowler, nextcloud, and I think that's it. It's a raspberry pi 4 in an argon m.2 enclosure so it has decent cooling. Is this too much for my pi to be running? It's been acting up lately. Stopping processes, not rebooting properly, stuff like that.

I went over all the basics of programming and have learned multiple languages, OOP, the standard libraries, etc. But I still don't know for the life of me how to write and design my own programs ans functions. How can I apply arrays, lists, binary trees and different algorhytms to make things like a renderer, pop-up window, etc.? For example, how do I make my program know that it's running? How can I make it recognize a 3D world? And so on...

Any tips for creating a pseudonymous facebook account? I tried before (years ago) and they immediately wanted ID. I'm good enough at Photoshop that I could forge an ID but don't really want to.
I don't care about them having my real IP or (burner) phone number etc, just want to be able to browse local groups and use (cash) marketplace without my real name and photo out there.

>chip needs to be cooled or else it performs in like shit or literally melts
nothing to do with size of the chip, the problem with size is because of defects in the silicon during production making it incredibly harder to make bigger chips as the yield is much lower, look up binning
>Why do you think cases have so much empty space? That's for air flow.
they have space to fill it up fully if needed, you can pack a case and with normal cooling, you wont see any difference in heat, as long as you dont make big mistakes with cooling like putting a fan on backwards, airflow wont matter

why do android browsers on mobile seem to compress images?
i already turned off all data savers from my phone and the web browser itself (chrome, opera mobile and firefox, tho i really dont think firefox has a data saver option)
the output format of a requested image download will appear as xxxxxxxxxm.jpg or anything with an m on the end.
this stops when you use desktop mode for the web browser.

I have an issue with gnome wayland.
I am unable to open videos in Video app or sushi addon.
I get some obscure opengl error.
It works perfectly when I switch to xorg.
I tried installing reinstalling drivers and different environmental variables.
does anybody have similar problem in latest gnome 47?
Can anyone tell me how to debug it?
There are no logs and no way to see what exactly breaks.

I really could use another POV.
Currently I'm using old laptop running linux mint as download/file server machine.
It's weak that can't even run plex server.
Also it's still a laptop running 24/7, thinking I should upgrade to proper NAS, like synology qnap?
Or just try to get SBC/thinclient and set something up?
Honestly, my use case is very light, and to single user and not a data hoarder, yet.

Would you recommend me buying some headphones from there? They're 40 dollars cheaper in Ali than the local retailer in my country, and they're both importing internationally so I'd get them around the same time.
The product just doesn't have enough reviews to confirm if it's legit or not.

I've just found out a retarded family member has been purchasing expensive colour inkjet cartridges at full price only to print A4 documents in black and white for about 4 years now.
My quick research tells me a laser printer is what she needs instead, any recommendations?
she prints ~40 pages a month.

idk what Plex does exactly but I'll just assume you want transcoding. For that you also want a desktop PC. But this time maybe with a better GPU than integrated, idk.

Just got home after a three week vacation where I left computer unplugged where I guess the MOBO battery ran out and I think bios reset.
Issue is now I cant access my 4 drive raid since it was set up through bios and I guess some setting got reset where all the drives arent recognized anymore to be part of the raid.
Anyone know of any way to solve it or is it fucked?

How ever there's power selector for the PoE.
Would it fry my devices if I use higher voltage for the PoE than what's my device need?

Another maybe-related issue that I've never worked out how to change, was the power button shutting the PC down when it's in sleep mode, instead of waking it up, which was caused by me swapping to a different case.

Anons, I trusted the AI and I messed up. I'm on macOS and I asked it to write me a bash script to randomly name my .jpeg files inside my .jpeg folder, I have done this before, and it always worked.
Well, this time I must have worded it wrong, because the files just disappeared from my folder, I checked if there were inside a hidden folder but came up empty, and I checked the trash.
Here is the script
#/bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh)"\
\
# Loop through all .jpeg files in the current directory\
for f in *.jpeg; do\
# Generate a random string of 8 characters (you can adjust the length if you want)\
random_name=$(openssl rand -hex 4) # Generates 8 characters (4 bytes) in hexadecimal\
# Rename the file while keeping the .jpeg extension\
mv "$f" "$random_name.jpeg"\
done\

It's possible but it's an awful idea. testing has no high priority security update channel, and sid is allowed to break and stay broken for long periods. Neither is intended to be used as a daily driver rolling release distro. This is why Debian had been bleeding user base and relevance for 20+ years.

Yeah I've been prompted if I want to format drives and such but not done anything like that obviously. I searched around for a bit and I think someone had a bit of success with test disk, so figure I'll give it an attempt later. If you dont know the order of the partitions apparently you should experiment and see what clicks in the program.
I guess the lesson learned here is, if you're setting up a raid through your MOBO then you probably wanna make sure its power stays connected and be careful with updating it.

Oh I see, it's to do with the fact that the wildcard (.) doesn't include line breaks. You could fix with with [\s\S]: /^[\s\S]*nipple[\s\S]*$/i;
But that's redundant anyway. Just do: /nipple/i
If you don't want nipple to be part of another word then you can do /\bnipple\b/i so that there's a word boundary before and after it.

You have to look at the abstractions and OOP to make what you want like if you wanted a window pop-up you say "paint this part of the screen (x and y for width and height) with this texture"
You don't need the basics to make ur own custom stuff, just libraries and other peoples work.

It's copper, it won't break. Just keep in mind the minimum bend radius is 4x the cable diameter, so you can't force it to follow right angles exactly, but you can make reasonably tight loops.

Plugging in my Kobo Clara HD (old ereader that I use sporadically) results in a loop of the device rapidly connecting and disconnecting. Trying to mount it during its brief connectivity does not help. I tried factory resetting it to no avail.
These are the results of my dmesg if it helps: https://pastebin.com/VZzZQxtB
This is happening on an up-to-date Arch install, using either of my front USB ports. Nothing went wrong with two USB drives I plugged in to those ports, so I don't believe it's an issue with the ports. Any help is appreciated.

What is the go-to email provider for signups on various platforms?
I want to reduce my accounts and start using aliases instead.
I have a few accounts for some services like a handful of battle.net accounts all with their own emails but I would rather then be anonbnet1@site anonbnet2@site all grouped under one actual email I use for multiple services/games rather than having separate emails for each game account.
I didn't ask to be put into this position big tech forced me into it. Early internet let you use email for email and has username+pass logins but once everything required email logins shit got messy and I made a flood of email accounts and I'm tired of dealing with them all at the moment. I'm not doing anything extreme or against TOS or ban evading I just like having alt accounts for stuff. If shit were an option, I would just use username+password instead of having a throwaway email attached but that's not an option in the current era.

If your data is not on at least three BACKUP devices, consider it at risk.
Primary file on original device
Backup1 = HDD or something
Backup2 = another HDD or something
Backup3 = another HDD or something
Your SD card can be one of the backups
don't rely on a single one
not even as a single backup
have multiple backups, even if they're SD cards

Not at all, but arguably porn doesn't need to be saved.
Data is data and 3 copies is the norm and your "live" PC copy should be treated as one that is volatile. If you're using a NAS or something it can be NAS+backup1+backup2 to be considered safe for a total of 3 copies but the typical phone/pc+backup1+backup2+backup3 is the way to go if you don't have a primary copy with versioning and accidental deletion/overwrite protection in place.
The goal is 3 copies that are good.
Porn included.
If you're backing up super important stuff aim for 15 separate copies on multiple flash drives with protection from fire/flood/theft/earthquake/tornados in mind.
Yes this means encrypt a flash drive, fill it, and mail it to a friend in another state in case your house burns down. Not for your porn, but at least for your password managers and and most important documents.

Well, I don't care for (((social media))) and prefer to keep my gaming usernames isolated so one battletag for Overwatch, one for Diablo, one for WoW.
Unfortunately these all require separate emails so I have emails like anon1@site for by Overwatch, anon2@site for my WoW shit, and anon3@site for my Diablo shit
I'd like to consolidate these into just anonfag@site and use aliases (virtual sub-emails all on the same actual email account) that lets me sign up for three separate battle.net accounts with one email.

How much should it cost and who are the top providers?
Apparently Proton has some rules against signing up to the same service multiple times.. my goal is to have the salty tryhards or toxic Overwatch faggots not be able to link my WoW account and that kind of stuff is why I separate things and keep accounts set to private.
Steam lets you private stuff but Battle.net is very anti-privacy so that's why I have 3 accounts.

maybe i can still use it if i use a VPN, i will try that

What are you talking about? Do you know what email hosting means? I'm not talking about getting a VPS and setting up a server by yourself, I'm talking about leasing an already established email infrastructure. (it's MUCH cheaper too)

2nd position is one of the following:

And so on.
How do I generate passwords using these characters sets? `crunch` only allows 4 custom charsets. Same for hashcat. Maybe I could generate short passwords and then cat them together? But I'm bad at math and I don't know how to do it.

My shits all fucked anons
I have an HP OMEN 15 laptop that does not want to boot from hibernation. This also happened yesterday, but while then it worked after i plugged in the power cord for a bit(battery was recently replaced, so i know its not it nor the charger, because it does light up and did charge the battery when the laptop was on) , now that doesnt do shit.
I tried following guides online to unplug my battery and check if its an issue with either it or the cord, but when i followed them the laptop didnt turn on in either scenario (but the little Led light did glow to show the charger works)
Any idea what the hell might be happening? It worked just fine after turning it on, and it was in hibernation for about 8 hours, if thats important
Im assuming it could be something with the button itself? Mayby i just Press the button really hard
Please help i dont want to be a phonefag

I don't like how expensive synology are for what is essentially a raspbery pie hooked up to multiple hdds and running a piece of software. On the other a hand you can build your own home server using low power components for a fraction of the price of a NAS. I just really don't think a 6 bay NAS should cost nearly 2k without factoring in the hard disks into the price.

Unfortunately I'm too dumb to figure out how to set a seeding limit on a per torrent basis on qbittorrent
*All I want is to pick a torrent and "set it to seed for only the next 3 hours".
The 'Set share limit to' is the only one that works.
The 'Total minutes' doesn't. I picked a torrent I had seeded for 31m, set it to 36m and it didn't stop seeding after 5 minutes.
How do I achieve *

You're absolutely right.
But on the other hand, DIY require some extras + possible 3D printing.
Not to mention no caddy.
My home server is just old elitebook 2750p, running arch hooked too my living room TV.
Connected over WiFi, as well.
I use it as NAS, as well as retro emulation machine, and occasional mpv playback.
I swapped the optical drive with HDD caddy, so I have about 2TB of storage in RAID 0.
It's a mess of cables though.
Also getting USB 3.0 multiple bay for HDD isn't cheap, these cost like 200$.
I hope there is something like mini PC with multiple drive bay.

Turn the lights on, it's easier to work on stuff if you can actually see shit.
And that sounds like the motherboard CMOS battery. Remove it from it's socket and test for voltage with a multimeter (your might have tips too thicc to fit inside the little connector, but you can use some thin wire to make the connections, just don't short it).

Says nothing to me. A Wi-Fi box can be an access point bridged into wired Ethernet, this is what they usually do in people's homes.
Or it can be a Wi-Fi client connecting to a parent access point. And again, bridges that link to wired Ethernet. Learn the jargon for "link", it's the Ethernet, both wireless and wired in this context.

Unless you're solely into consooming, I do recommend getting yourself a multimeter. Even a cheapo one is extremely useful in so many ways.
I don't know how inflation was at the time but back then I paid the equivalent of 6 dollars on mine. Still use it to this day, I spent more money on other pieces of equipment but even the most basic of multimeters can do good work.
>data
You could have just disconnected the storage drive and plug it on on another device to recover the data. SSDs are quite sturdy but and HDDs are afraid of magnets and having their seal punctured will destroy them. I wouldn't give my devices with all my files to anyone, if I can't do a job for some reason I remove the storage and some other sensitive parts and leave just what needs to be worked on.

I trust the guy, since he's
my old IT teacher
so I'm sure he wont go looking inside my PC. I'll also definitely go around looking for a mulitmeter, because god knows i could probably use more tools than just a screwdriver and some air in a can.
All I'll be happy with is knowing the data is fine and just getting it to work to be usable untill i buy a new setup, either an actual PC, or another laptop, because that thing is years old now and i could probably use something new, or at least more reliable.
now lets see if 4chan will let this post go through or not, because the last one went through and disapeared seemingly

Retard here, one of the small form factor shitty dell pcs we have to use at work is now making a loud grinding/rattling sound from the cpu cooling fan like pic related. Writing this from home and forgot to note what model the pc is but its cooler is a squirrel fan but it basically just sits in a track rather than being screwed down. I tried shimming it with a tiny bit of foam which helped slightly but itโs still stupid loud.

It's too loose in its mount. Check if it was supposed to be glued in place or if it's supposed to be any screws that for some reason aren't there.

it looks just fine, works very nicely for 1:1 aspect vids
