Hey guys, first time posting!

So, I managed to figure out all the components for my PC, aside from a PC case. The more I look, the more I am undecided, as all the cases seem to be a bit too confusing for me, as to what is good quality and what is not.

For reference, I have an Asus TUF RTX 4080 Super and I got an Arctic Freezer III 360mm, as well as 9800x3D. With that in mind, what would you recommend? I'm looking for premium build quality case, so price isn't exactly an issue.

The sad thing about HDR in games is that it's generally shitty because barely anyone has good HDR monitors so there's not enough people complaining about it.

I've been using HDR in elden ring and I have to use special K to unfuck the default HDR implementation. Then you have have online games where you can't unfuck the HDR with mods or anything that messes with .dlls otherwise you get banned, shit sucks. RTX HDR seems nice but it's too limited atm, it defaults to the highest quality which has a performance cost and it forces you to use a single monitor. There's an RTX HDR mod which allows you to use lower quality options and mutliple monitors but again that's one of those things that might get you banned from online games and it has the drawback of requiring HDR to be enabled across all connected monitors.

dust is an extremely overblown issue and unless you care about aesthetics, you're find dusting your pc once every 3 years. The Lian Li doesn't have dust filters behind it's mesh panels ("unusable" in my book) and yet I'm sure the Silent Base performs better because it can have 3x140mm fan in front. The build quality is not the same, the functionality, the dimension are not the same. You are much more limited with the smaller simpler Lancool. You just get what you pay for.

My 3070 XC3 just crapped out randomly after 2 years. Three red lights, tried reseating it and nothing. Sent it back to EVGA for an RMA and got this. What bullshit. I never spilled anything on this. None of my other components have water damage. WTF do i do now? Is EVGA a scam company? You clearly have never used a large radiator for 8+ hours daily or you live in a clean server room. The amount of dust a radiator can collect is literally breathtaking, choking. The more air throughput a case has with several large intake fans the more dust it sucks in unless you have fine-meshed air filters in front of the fans. It's so much easier to just pull out a removable dust filter and clean it in the kitchen or in the outside than cleaning a radiator or aircooler heatsink that is clogged with dust.

I don't usually OC my video card or CPU, but it took me less than 5 runs to get a top 3 result for my card & CPU.

EVGA is out of the GPU market now. They used to be one of the best AIB makers for Nvidia cards but they couldn't stay profitable and left the market.

Past like $180-200, perhaps even cheaper, a more expensive mobo isn't going to make your computer perform better. For AM5 in particular, the VRMs start to get overkill pretty quickly, so unless you're planning on doing competitive overclocking or some shit, some crazy power phase design on a $500 board isn't going to do any better than one in the aforementioned price cutoff. The only other thing I would say that matters in terms of performance is PCB layers, where you'd ideally want to go for 8 layers over 6, which should in theory lead to an easier time overclocking memory at higher speeds / tighter timings. That being said, AM5 CPUs are far more likely to be limited by their internal memory controller before the board will factor in, and 6 vs 8 layers shouldn't really make a difference at the 6000-6400mhz timings you'll be more likely to run stably on a 9800X3D. If you win the silicon lottery and have a chip with an IMC that could push 8000mhz+ (the only point where it'd be worth switching to a 2:1 ratio instead of 1:1 between UCLK and MCLK that'd you should be able to get between 6000-6400mhz) then maybe an 8 layer board is more worthwhile, but it's impossible to tell if you'll win the silicon lottery, and the gains at 8000mhz+ 2:1 are so marginal that you probably won't even notice them outside of benchmarking. The only other thing that could matter is PCIE Gen 5 vs 4 for the GPU slot, if you plan to get a 5000 series card, but I doubt anything but the 5090 would come close to saturating 16 lanes of PCIE 4.

The point of higher priced mobos are other features that are more quality of life. More IO ports in general, USB4 ports, digital post code display, Ez release levers/buttons for PCIE slots or toolless M2 installation.

More expensive boards (X670E / X870E chipsets for instance) have more PCIE lanes to allocate, which usually means you don't have to disable certain features like secondary/tertiary PCIE slots or USB4 ports in order to use specific M2 slots. There's a guy named Ronin-Wilde on youtube who has videos for every currently available X870/X870E board breaking down how they allocate PCIE lanes. I would recommend checking him out, just so that you have a sense of what to look for when assessing other chipsets (B550 and it's successor B850 that is releasing in coming days, X670 and X670E)

To answer your other questions, how much are you looking to spend on a case? The Be Quiet Silent 802 that gets recommended by some anons here might fit your needs, or perhaps something like a Fractal North. On the cheaper side you could get something like a Montech Air 903 Base, which comes with no fans, and then buy some non RGB ones. It's hard to give too many recommendations since the price range hasn't been set.

Cases will generally specify if they can accommodate 240mm, 360mm, or 420mm AIOs and where. For example some cases can accommodate a 360mm AIO if you mount the radiator where they front fans would normally go, while it may only be able to fit a 240mm AIO if you were planning to install the radiator at the top of the case. At the same time, just because a case says it can accommodate 360mm AIOs in a specific location doesn't mean it can accommodate every 360mm AIO in that area. The Arctic Liquid Freezer III, which is consider to be far and away one of the best AIOs you can get for price to performance, has a pretty thick radiator component with the fans installed, and it may not fit in a case that says it can do 360mm AIOs. You'll definitely want to see if you can find posts online of people confirming they can fit the specific AIO you intend to buy in your intended case, or you might have to spend some time really sussing out the dimensions on your own.

If a case says it can fit an AIO in XYZ location then typically you just screw it in there with the screws that come with the AIO, I don't think you'll come across any sort of fancy mounting needs.

in fact it can run on lower VSOC because of low UCLK in 2:1 mode and opens up more headroom for high FCLK if you want to run unsync

it does, but just know that on zen 4/5 what works best is what's most stable if that makes sense.
it's important to check for performance regression and throttling with linpack, vt3, karhu and games, moreso than error-checking with stress tests (do both obviously)

Pretty normal. Mine is abit lower on idle from 20-35c depending on enviroment

^i left this thing on idle a lot and set the fans to always be above 50% speed because of a fan noise issue. The space heater kicking in could totally raise ambient above 20c. I used to keep the windows open for fresh air, that might have done it.
