I can't grasp what is going on, but something is. It's hard to put into words. I will say this though. I think it's a blessing and a curse. Spoilers for the Dark Tower series. At the end of the last book, the main character enters a room and is transported back to the first scene of the book series with no memory of what transpired. However instead of going back empty handed he is still in possession of an item he acquired during his journey. I think this is what happens.
