This is Park Chan-wook's upcoming kino, evidently he has been nurturing this script for a very long time.

My two thoughts:
1. I'm very excited for this, I loved "Decision to leave", so he might be in the zone and on a roll.
2. Also cool to see Lee Byung-hun having a late renaissance in his career, big success of squid game and other movies coming etc. I still love A Bittersweet Life, one of the first Korean movies I saw.

Outside of daily and weekend family dramas, they've largely moved away from the live shoot system these days. AFAIK most dramas complete or mostly complete filming before broadcast begins. If there's any overlap, it's usually not too big. For example Love Next Door, Doubt, A Virtuous Business, and When The Phone Rings all wrapped up filming within a week (give or take) of their first episode airing. From the recent dramas I checked, Good Partner had the most overlap and they still finished filming about a month before their broadcast finished. Definitely not as crazy as it used to get.
In the case of When The Stars Gossip, they finished filming in 2023 and it sat in post-production for quite some time. So they do have something to dump if they go that route. But while tvN's next drama Potato Lab is likely ready to go, cutting WTSG would take production time away from Unknown Seoul (Park Bo-young and Park Jin-young) and Seocho-dong (Lee Jong-seok and Moon Ga-young). It'll be interesting to see what tvN decides to do. If they do anything at all.
