Someone tell me what the fuck to do.
Over the weekend, I started with $13,000 and hedged my bets on long shots to win the SB ($5k Commanders, $4k Texans, $4k Rams). I came out on top because the Commanders won. Now, I used polymarket because the odds there are out of 100%, and I anticipated a winning underdog to have an 18-20% chance of winning the SB, which would have let me cash out for more than a winning money line bet ..

I was wrong though, because even though the Commanders won, their odds are still only 10%, so all it got me was $16,500 from the initial $5k bet (or $3500 net profit). I cashed out $3k from the $16,500, and currently have $14k on the line to win $140,000 if they win the SB. I plan to use the $3k to make a parlay on the Eagles and maybe Bills ML, which is a contingency for the Commanders losing. It would payout roughly $8000. I wouldn’t want to end up with nothing if the commanders lose next week, I don’t think.

These are pretty much my only funds to spare for this sort of thing, but at the same time, I’m young and can afford to take risks. If I hedged another way, I could guarantee a $40k payout if either NFC team wins, which is an option I haven’t ruled out. But $140k would change my life, and cashing out even 35-40% of that before the Super Bowl — should the Commanders somehow advance — is $50k and I would consider that if it were to happen. The nice thing about polymarket is you can cash out any % of it, so if the commanders move on, I could cash out 50% (worth $25k) and let the rest ride (worth $70k).

Basically, I’m going crazy trying to find the optimal bet/s. I would like to hear opinions from some vets here.
