How do you guys layer up on your feet and hands?
I daily my motorcycle and those are the only bits that end up cold. 70mph windchill is brutal when its already below freezing out
I dont want to get grip mittens but I do have some grip heaters coming on the way

I wear midseason leather gloves — because I'm an idiot and because they look better than any winter gloves.
Under them I wear Revit Infinium undergloves — they add some bulk, but not that much to bother me. Even when the leather already got cold, my hands aren't that affected by the windchill + if the gloves waterproofing will betray me this Infinium material should save me.
Under the undergloves I wear thin merino glove liners — almost no impact on overall thickness, but add a tiny bit of extra warmth + I'm not worried if my hands are dirty/greasy as liners are super easy to wash and dry.
This combo works at around 2C (didn't ride below freezing) for about half an hour with no hand guards/heated grips — for longer rides I occasionally touch the engine. If I ditched the leather gloves and bought proper winter gloves I believe this layering would work even at -10C.
> feet
I wish I knew anything better than thick alpaca wool socks. No idea.
Rain overpants that are long enough to cover my ankles reduce the winchill.

I’m about to order a set of fishnets from Svala, we’ll see how this goes. This is my first winter in a place that actually gets cold enough to snow and have quickly learned that my typical skin tight base layer isn’t the way to go here.

ok maybe not like outright endorsed, but I'm sure men have shared a tent away from prying eyes deep in the woods before and despite "never having done this before" ended up sharing a sleeping bag.

I can get a good deal on wool base layers. Should I go with those or buy Columbia metallic ones. I only have experience with Columbia.

>How do you guys layer up on your feet and hands
Feet or hands has never been a layering concept.
I was in the -3f windchill (middle tn) just 30 minutes ago with basic fucking socks on.
I do it like this
>is it cold
>wear basic clothing
>is it now getting below 32f
>medium socks, fingerless gloves
>is it now below 0f
>medium socks, full gloves
>is it now -30f
>heavy socks, winter gloves
Your issue is you are specifically doing something that causes constant windchill with no relief in moments that allow the hands to warm back up.

Exactly, which is why there was no reason to layer.
Thank you for proving my point.
Please LARP to me about how you spend all day in -95 Fahrenheit. I'd love to hear it kid.

>no you don't understand I need to shitpost online
I can tell dude.
Colarado only has record cold temperatures in -60s. Which is still winter glove temperatures, no glove layers.
Alongside just heavy socks.
Might I suggest you lose some weight, if you lose enough the diabetes should go into remission and your fingers and toes would stop freezing to death.
