Is there any way to launch a specific activity of a specific closed-source non-debuggable app package directly? I tried

and it gave me a permission denial with "not exported from uid 1000." According to Google, this is because the activity is not exported in the app's manifest.xml, so it's not possible to access it from outside that app's UID.

I'm a yuropoor and I've been using my lenovo shitphone for like 6 or 7 years now but app developers started dropping support for the android this phone uses. I am not willing to try installing an unofficial LineageOS release from some Rajeesh on xda that will probably be broken anyway.

Can I get some recommendations for smartphones in the 300-400ish usd range? I don't really have high expectations when it comes to camera or screen, I just want something that wil not be dropped by the manufacturer after one additional android release or zero presence in the custom rom space.
I tried looking at the chinkphones but the sheer volume of different SKUs is just overwhelming. I am not particularly jazzed about getting a Pixel 8a but jewgle phones seem to have the longest support and they're omnipresent when it comes to custom roms. The other phone that seemed somewhat promising was Nothing Phone 2a but that's mostly because one of the stores has a pretty good deal on the 8 gig variant right now.

How big a deal is uninstalling/reinstalling system apps on a non-rooted device?

I'm trying to slightly modify a system settings app, but changing the package name so I can have both the modified and the original installed seems to fuck up the modified version to the point where it's entirely nonfunctional.
So I can't have them both, but what happens if I uninstall the original settings app and then the modified version ends up fucked somehow anyway? I obviously don't want to be without a functional settings app.
In that event, can I just reinstall the original APK like nothing happened? Will it go back to /system/priv-app/ where it was before? I don't even know if the location of an installed app depends on the APK or if literally everything installed from any source after the device leaves the factory ends up in /data/app by default.

Weird request

Hi /spg/ I've been daily driving a z fold 6 since the day it came out and I honestly don't think I'll be able to go back to other phones again. This is my first foldable and the productivity and handiness is pretty insane.

The S pen support means I can write hand notes that are converted to text directly in the app as well as animate and draw on my tablet. There's a mobile version of clip paint studio that I've been using to do this and it's been a fun way to burn downtime at work. Movies and shows are slightly bigger on the screen so I just put it on a stand next to my desk, plug in some headphones and watch something in the background at work. If I have a lot of downtime like during the holidays I can even use the dolphin emulator and a gamesir attachment to turn it into a handheld console. I can also just turn it into a desktop with a stand portable keyboard and mouse combo hook everything up via bluetooth and get more work done on the go if I need. I get that other non-foldables can probably do that too but the extra screen just makes it feel so much more doable. Manga and reading in general is also much easier with this form factor. I get that some people don't like the front screen but personally I can reach to the left side of the phone if I'm holding it with my right hand and texting with both hands is a little close but still not that big of a deal. I still can't get over the gaming thing. I haven't tried it yet but I'm pretty sure I can remote into my pc using my fold and game on it with that portable mouse/keyboard from anywhere. I'll have to try that out I'm not sure it works.

Downsides are obviously it's thicker when folded and I think that having a case that makes it even thicker is a little annoying, and you need to get another screen protector for the outer screen or it will scratch eventually.

Anyway, it's been weird upgrading from a galaxy s 9 to this. Very cool phone. 5 stars.

Budget is around $400. I'm seeing a lot of people recommend the Galaxy S22 Ultra a lot. Need a new phone. I live in Australia so the only options are Samsung, Motorola, and Google. Some places might have limited Xiaomi and Oppo.

For the first time, OnePlus has made an Australian model and is shipping directly to Australia. I'm inclined to get it because it's $1600 and has better specs in most respects than the Pixel Pro XL and Samsung S25 Ultra while being significantly cheaper than both (S25 Ultra will probably be $2200+, Pixel is $1600 for the lowest storage model). Storage space is also important to me since I pirate everything and don't use streaming services.

My current phone is a Samsung S20+. It has mostly served me well, and I don't want to downgrade in any way if I can avoid it.

Before I blow $1600 on a phone not sold in Australia, Is this a good purchase, or is there more I should consider?
