The whore is the opposite of the faithful bride. Just like the bride is those who are faithful to Jesus Christ, the whore is loyal to no one. The bride comes from Abraham's seed. All those who believe the promise.

The whore is from the land of Chaldea and she is the one who prostitutes herself with other gods. She is also called mystery Babylon. She is the purveyor of occult mysteries and confusion.

The faithful bride seeks to be spotless, have plenty of oil, point to Jesus, free the captives, tell the truth, heal the sick and die to herself.

The whore seeks to agrandize herself, take opportunity, and spin webs of deceit, and point to self as God.

Though both of these characters have roots in the ancient-middle east, they are best understood as spiritual paths. Compare lady wisdom and lady folly in proverbs to understand the mode of operation of these two types. I guess another way of putting it is spiritual paths and groups of people who align with either side.

I agree with the wormwood portion.. Wormwood is legalistic pharisiacal judgement. The way I understand it is judgement without mercy not understand the spirit of the law. An eye for an eye mentality. Following of the letter of the law and spreading bitterness. It is not just the pharisees though. It extends to Christian priests and prophets as well who do the same thing.

The star falling is a group of saints. Prophets and priests who fall and take their congregation with them. Is it also literal? I am not sure. The spiritual meaning is they turn justice into bitterness. There is no mercy and they poison the water that was meant for life. The waters are also people who have the Holy Spirit. They fall away coinciding with the great apostacy to false miracles and lying wonders and turn to bitterness(wormood) instead of God.

They also prophecy against God's judgement. They say God will not judge people he will judge and claim it is true prophecy causing the people to be disappointed and hate the actual word of the Lord.

Wormwood is a poison, bitterness indicates when something is poisonous, so something deadly was in the object that leeched into the waters. Maybe radioactive or heavy metals.

The idea is that the catholics worship Mary. They claim her to be the ark of the new covenant. However there is another figure that the Jews worshiped. Some claim it to be Ishtar. The drink offerings and cakes correlate to this idea. Mary herself would not be the whore, but the role as main intercessor, immaculate(claiming she is sinless) and the idea that she is the goddess that catholics worship would hypothetically make her the whore.

This doesn't make sense, though i agree that this queen of heaven is part of the end times. I believe her to be one of the three frogs that come out of the beasts mouth. A type of delusion. An ancient fallen angel who beguiles religious people. She is present in other religions as well. Weeping for her son is a common theme.
