Attention, new Cyberpunk update just randomly dropped with the DLSS4 support.
You can play with the new DLSS models without waiting for the NVApp and drivers update on Jan 30.

Works on all RTX GPUs, except for the framegen which is locked to RTX40 and RTX50.

https://www.cyberpunk.net/en/news/51296/patch-2-21

Added support for DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation for GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards, which boosts FPS by using AI to generate up to three times per traditionally rendered frame – enabled with GeForce RTX 50 Series on January 30th. DLSS 4 also introduces faster single Frame Generation with reduced memory usage for RTX 50 and 40 Series. Additionally, you can now choose between the CNN model or the new Transformer model for DLSS Ray Reconstruction, DLSS Super Resolution, and DLAA on all GeForce RTX graphics cards today. The new Transformer model enhances stability, lighting, and detail in motion.

NVIDIA WON

THANK YOU NVIDIA

>use AI to generate fake resolution
>use AI to generate fake frames
How long before game devs resort to using AI to generate fake game content for their slop and market it as revolutionary?

you'll have to wait fhe new NVapp anon, even if you swap the files you'll be stuck with the old model, for games that don't have a switch in the settings you'll have to use the nvapp override
but i've seen other comments saying that you get more performance with framegen by swapping files
Cyberpunk has a toggle for the model selection in the options like OPs screenshot so no need for NVApp overrides

It honestly looks impressive, look at this shit, this is 1080p BALANCED mode with framegen, ray reconstruction and path tracing.
So the internal res is like 540p.
First part of the vid is the old model, second part is the new one, the text is actually readable now.

Even if you don't care about shit like this, it's possible this new model is good enough that you can drop another level of DLSS and it will look the same. Like if you did 4K performance, maybe 4K ultra performance looks just as good now.

Unironically you can probably slap 1080p balanced with full on pathtracing and get a playable experience on like a 4060 with this new model and framegen improvements

I'm curious - how does dlss ultra performance look at 4k with the new model? Thats 720p to 4k.

I'm curious if it's comparable to performance mode 4k on the old model.

While I get this kind of argument... isn't everything in a game fake? Does it matter how we get there if it looks and plays well?

Granted, shitty frame gen looks abysmal, but I've seen some implementations that look indistinguishable, especially in motion.

DLSS4 I'm sceptical of, however, I can't see how cohesion can be kept over so many frames, or how input lag won't be a huge issue.

Dlss is pretty great, even in motion, unless the devil is a total retard and uses an ancient dlss dll, but even then nvidia is adding native support for dlss version override in a week so that one goes away.

Frame generation is...hrm, you basically need a high framerate for it to be useful. Like if you're getting 80 fps and want it to look smoother on an oled it'll be fine

Why the fuck does this game never go on a decent sale? Even only a couple years after Witcher 3 came out they practically were selling it for pennies along with two expansions, meanwhile this game hardly ever goes under $30 and that's without Phantom Liberty

Interesting, I thought you need to update the drivers first since you're modifying the driver profile, unless Nvidia already had the J preset there hidden...

It's just a value that the DLL reads (which you just replace) so it's not related to the driver. I'd like to see people test RDR2 though.

>comparisons show it looks better than native
>hype
play the game
>its not better than native (ofcourse it isnt)
>small objects moving against flat scenes still leave trails as long as a quarter of your screen
>RT options still artifact everywhere at all times
>DLSS tries to mimic these artifacts between frames and literally makes more out of nowhere for no reason.

Im sick of this. I like AI and think its a great future tech, but this isnt it.
Get it out of my games.
