It's simple: you just get lucky enough to find a good joker early on and then let it carry you so you can make money and then also buy the 2 hand vouchers.

The only deck I've had fun with on higher stakes is the checkered deck. Playing flush flush flush doesn't scale but carries you enough that you get a decent chance to find scaling through other means.
With every other deck 95% of the time if you don't find something good in the first three shops you are better off just reloading.

wee joker had ~ 280 chips
level 10 pair had 12 mult 160 chips
mult and chips from those jokers and a pair alone was therefore 440 chips * 82 mult which is 36,000
x2 from the ramen gives it 72,000 per hand
Blue deck with a Burglar gives 8 hands
8 * 72,000 is 576,000

so I would have cleared the boss blind number (other than Violet Vessel) with just those 4 jokers alone. but in reality I had a bunch of steels and stones and a Constellation at like x2.5 so even that wouldn't have been a problem. btw i got Cerulean Bell, which was basically nonexistent vs that deck but any boss would have been clearable

The big challenge is early game. Focus on survival until you can start taking advantage of your extra joker later.
Also, make sure you're resetting for the first small blind skip tag. Small blind gives you $3 max so it's important to skip it for a good tag imo. Free shop or free uncommon/rare joker are good.

It's not just the end game. The early game has critical flaws. The only "good" part of the game is the mid game. I could rant about how to fix Balatro but the gist is create more boring low impact generic mult and chip jokers to dilute the pool but increase the amount of jokers offered in the shop. This solves the early game rng problem and eases the transition into the good middle game. There is no solution to the end game. Endless shit is always going to be endless shit.

Yeah that's exactly what I did to massively sweep up all the jokers left. Once there were about three left, I just played red deck or ghost deck completely as normal and just looked out for those remaining jokers. It takes a long while if you're determined to do it without using a seed.

The single best and most consistent hand you can play is high card, you draw it every single turn. During early antes you just play whatever hands the jokers you managed to get allow, but you should always be trying to pivot into high cards, which is simple to do. For example you might get a runner in the first shop and play straights up until ante 4 or 5, and by the time it's giving you 200+ chips per hand, you can just keep it and start playing high cards with general +mult and xmult jokers. I always pick high card in planet packs even if I'm not playing high cards yet because I will always pivot into a high card build. The way I play the game (and perhaps most people) means that knowing if the played hand will meet the round requirement or not is important. I don't feel like it adds to the fun or experience of the game to play guesswork - when it comes down to it, you end up constantly looking at your hand rates to try to figure out roughly how many hands you can play before you need to play the winning hand etc, and then you're not sure if the hand will be enough, and then it turns out to be much more than you need and you could have burned a couple more hands farming gold or whatever. I'd have more fun if I could take that most of that guesswork out.

Straights and four of a kind are the best scaling normal hands that you can get somewhat consistently, if you are going for these hands you can probably one shot as long as you have the right hand.

High card also becomes monstrous because you can boost it with chad, photograph, glass cards and steel cards and it is guaranteed without having to rig your deck, you have more freedom to discard unwanted cards because you don't need them for a hand.

Painted and abandoned can go for straights, checkered can go for flushes, the rest are probably best to go high card

You can beat Ante 1 without buying anything, and you can beat Ante 2 with any basic +mult or +chip joker, so you should try and reach $20 during those antes. If you see a basic bitch +mult joker during the ante 1 shop just buy it, then let your money build. Of course if you see a run defining joker, like stuntman or bloodstone, buy it anyway. If you are below $15 at low antes, never buy a rental joker, even if it's fantastic. It will kill your run because you will never be able to make any more money.

These are my most used jokers to give you an idea of what gets high card hands going viably. Supernova can often be the only +mult you need. Try and play as many high cards as you can before a blind ends instead of ending it just in case supernova shows up.
