It's kind of hard to judge, really. First of all, the performance is atrocious.
And for a character action game, it's kind of a deal breaker.
Aside from that, the demon slave system is clearly overpowered. It's not that it's boring, you can summon shit in the middle of your combo, so you don't have to stand around and control your demons. But it's too powerful.
Aside from that, Bayo 2 felt way more smooth and responsive.

Bayo 2 just barely edges out 1 IMO but I can fully understand why people would prefer 1 over 2.
3 on the other hand feels like it was slapped together in less than a year and the story (for how shlocky it has always been in the series) was a downgrade alongside Viola just playing like complete ass, the performance was also really bad at times which makes it obvious that the team was struggling with getting it running on the switch in the first place.

It's worth a try if you liked Bayo 2 and still wanted more after finishing it, otherwise I would just play DMC 3 or 5 over Bayo 3 if you haven't already.
