The UBW anime is generally *fine*, it cuts out Shirou's internal monologue so that it's not 50+ episodes, but most of the actual dialogue is preserved word for word. It's not a substitute for reading the route in VN, but it's a nice complimentary piece.

That's actually part of the point. Time never slows down like that elsewhere in the VN. Pulling off the veil gave him a huge flood of knowledge that gets loredumped in like 5 seconds, then Shirou rationally and systematically reviews all of his options, which showed us how Mind's Eye (True) works, ironically in real time. The flashes in the movie vaguely attempt to convey that Shirou is tracing Berserker's experience, but everything else is lost absolutely.

Nasu used the same type of narration with the Vlov fight in Arceuid's route, and that's largely why it was the most hype part in the remake. If ufotable would turn that into a generic action scene like their Shirou v. Gilgamesh, then it would be ruined.
