The censorship in X actually changes a lot of the names that turned out to be important to the story/themes. BLADE was renamed, the Growth were changed to Ganglion, Dolls to Skells, Wels to Verus (which was changed back in the Definitive Edition as per the trailer), and so on. Its pretty interesting once you understand where it came from. Back in the day, you couldn't have actiony game genres like Mario 64 as MMOs due to the limited internet infrastructure as it'd be too demanding on servers. In fact online games would need be at least a decade behind most offline games. So devs had to come up with a more simpler system. What this lead into was MMO's with brain dead combat like auto attacking, skill cooldowns, limited attack cycles, and so forth, or so it seemed.

What happened was people realized that if you cut out the middleman and add stuff like auto attacking, it was much much easier and simpler to focus on the character's skills. You can manage 20-30 skills at once instead of worrying about getting your attack in since all you're really doing is mashing the attack button/key. Normal attack buttons/keys are something you never have to worry about and so you can just focus 100% on skills and positions.
