Do you think he likes the french?

He spent at least a decade of his life in France enjoying his cult of le artiste maudit and embezzled financing of several French producers.

The official story I read somewhere is that Orson took sleeping pills and in the morning he was still fucked up on them. They decided that it was best to not just let the day's shooting go to waste, so they'd do as many takes as they could, then have Orson do a voice over later on in the booth. It's much cheaper to just ADR new lines than to reshoot everything.
The final commercial has a lot of cuts but other than that you'd never notice. It was also just one commercial among many, and most of them were filmed smoothly.

I just think the whole ordeal is pretty sad. A genius who reinvented the way we filmed movies, a man of culture worthy of being called a renaissance man, one who is extremely literate and worded on just about anything he touches - turns into a washed, abandonned director because he couldn't keep up with the times accelerating even more, and is reduced to making adverts for various companies that eventually fell off in the future.
Except Transformers.
