It's interesting that, out of Toho's latest two Godzilla movies, the first one gave us the message "the government sucks" from the government's point of view, and then the very next one gave us the message "the government sucks" from the civilians' point of view.
...I dunno, that was as far as my thought went, I don't have a deeper read on it than that at the moment. I just thought it was interesting.

It's part of that but from the way I see it it's more of a "fuck Jap boomers and their ceremonial PR meetings, young generations should be the ones in charge."

Minus One was not a very enjoyable movie whatsoever and the ending reeked of a bullshit yet typical Japanese-esque ending.
i saw it in theaters (b/w) when it came out and was shocked to go online and see how much everyone was praising it. i don't think i got filtered, i just found the story even worse than the old original ones.
