My pitch is something a bit more small scale than the usual Indy affair. Jones is called to verify an artifact discovered in a small town in Louisiana. When he arrives the man he was supposed to meet has been killed and the artifact stolen. He investigates and discovers the town has a large voodoo cult in control and that there is cover up to the murder and theft.
Story and visuals would be very southern gothic.

Indy movies are kinda all about the world travelling, high stakes, cool set pieces though. Not that it's impossible to make a smaller movie with him but it would have to be a certain way.

A concept that seems like a no-brainer for creatively impaired writers at Disney is to make a soft reboot where he hunts for the staff of Moses. It has tremendous power in the Bible and also mysteriously disappeared like the Ark of the Covenant so it's super easy to make a plot surrounding it.

Atlantis is obviously the best one.
