Is it literally all just manipulation of phosphate cations and changing around the anion group while utilizing oversaturated aqueous solutions while letting this shit cool?
There's gotta be more accessible non-water soluble options.

why can't we synthesize massive diamonds and rubies and sapphires and emeralds and shit

We already synthesize sapphire crystals half a meter in diameter to make cellphone screens. No one cares enough about rubies and emeralds. Diamond we can't do because CVD sucks

Growing crystals in a gravity well fucks up replication consistency. Gravity fields are loaded with "information" that is imprinted on crystals as they grow from the seed which is why tightly packed lattices like diamond have to be put under extreme pressure to minimize the quantum effects of gravity.

Reddlters think in groups. They don't own their own ideas but have to appeal to the group for consensus. They don't think in terms of "is this correct" they think in terms of "is it acceptable to believe this" so they don't present ideas as an individual but as part of a "group," hence you see "we" instead of "I."

>Is it literally all just manipulation of phosphate cations and changing around the anion group
you clearly have no idea what the fuck you're doing but yes, slow growth from a warm/saturated/evaporating solution is basically it.

Well I mean shit if we just follow the salts and solute/solution process then all we need is some oversaturated solution that has some of the elements of the desired crystal. Problem is this shit takes A LONG GODDAMN TIME.
I saw some dude make Opals, but you gotta wait for thr sedimentation process for literal months.

The topic of the conversation is growing crystals, not compressing crystals into a larger crystal.

Actually, how DO you speed up crystal growth? Of course you don't want the solution to crash out, but with a seed crystal, polished glassware, and controlled evaporation rate, shouldn't you be able to grow them in a day or two?
