The $5000 35mm f2 for the SL has nearly identical optical characteristics, maybe hair better in the periphery, as the $500 Z mount 35mm f1.8 after stopping the latter down to f2 and basically looks like it could be a $1000 lens between the z 35/1.8 S and the sony 35/1.4 GM. Actually exactly the same look as the new canon 35/1.4 L. And this is meant to be a modern lens design. Sure, i’m sure thats european artisanship and not just shoddy work from leicas portugese sweatshop.
