I’d buy it in a heartbeat. It can’t exist as you have it rendered though, there’s no mechanical linkage on the Z mount for rangefinder cam coupling.

rangefinder-by-wire? No reason it can't be done. I don't see the rangefinder window though, looks like just a viewfinder

I'm honestly convinced that the autists asking for a new rangefinder camera have never shot a rangefinder camera and just want to LARP as Leicatards without shooting Poojifilm.

Whos actually asking for a rangefinder? Theres a difference between a rangefinder style camera without the EVF hump and an actual rangefinder.

not a terrible idea, but couldn't let Nikon do it, otherwise it would end up looking and feeling like a plastic toy, just like the ZF and to an even greater extent, the ZFc.

How is it that over a decade later only SNOY can figure this out?
Even foolji has given up, x-e hasn't been updated in 3 years

Yeah the ovf would be the most useless function in this camera, like most of the pro and x100 owners never use it.

Make the OVF a prism with a digital display projected into it from below

No Leica has a rangefinder with no screen at all. You have to use the phone app to preview images. Or wait until you ingest to a computer.

OVF’s should be modular. If you wear glasses, are old (the target consumer for $5k camera bodies) or your eyes aren’t that good & struggle to see tiny detail, or shoot off your histogram, you’re not using the little VF anyway, you’re using the screen, +the VF’s are never 100% of image size anyway, and take up a lot of extra space on top and off the back of the camera body and add a bunch of extra cost. Modular VF that just plugs into the hot shoe with a waterproof seal, & has its own hot shoe on top for accessories, for the geeks who want all that.
