It can take stills of objects at a distance fine for the most part, but the second I have to to photograph anything close up or moving, most especially people, the quality massively degrades

The tint is because your white balance settings are off. Try switching to auto WB.

If you're blurry in overcast sky, your aperture is too narrow or shutter too slow. Learn to use those modes.

Beautiful old cruise ship built retired from service in 1967 and permanently docked in Long beach, CA. There are obvious similarities to Titanic, though Queen Mary was bigger and faster, as she was built well after Titanic.

If you’re ever in Long Beach she’s worth a visit! It’s neat to walk the decks and snoop around various rooms and places, many lavishly adorned in wood and brass and what you’d expect on a cruise ship of that area. Next to Queen Mary is an old Soviet era sub too. The Queen Mary is visible from afar and is a real gem for Long Beach.
