There's nothing up there and you can get similar views from the road in certain places. I'd rather be doing literally anything other than climbing a mountain. Target practice, bushcraft, studying wildlife, gathering plants and mushrooms, testing new gear, anything is a better use of my time. I would sooner carve spoons all day then go to the top of a mountain. When someone says they "hike" I just assume they're from suburbia and probably gay.

Imagine being so much of a bitch when it comes to going /out/ that you get defeated by a fucking hill.

mountains are incredible and being in the alpine is in my blood. the feeling i get being up there is like nothing else. if you don't get it that's fine. i like studying wildlife and ecology and forests too and i know we'd get along fine irl. in fact i like our differences even if we don't agree op

Cool. Then do so.

Different people have different interests.
Whats the point in being obnoxious and hostile about it?

god I wish that were true
there's so many hiking trails that could easily be turned into passable roads if they wanted to.

Because mountaineers are usually urban leftists and Europeans. There's a cultural and psychological divide between people like that and people who are more into hunting and wilderness survival skills and primitive technology.

Coloradan here; as long as every retard and his uncle is chasing 14'ers, I get all the valleys and woods to myself. Fine by me.

It depends. Popular normie mountains like the 7 summits, 14ers, 4000 footers in the northeast, state and country high points, guided volcano treks, and ski resort mountains are no better than being in a city. Worse in some respects, desu.

Empty mountains where you can wander around and see no one for miles are kino if you don't have to drive hundreds or thousands of miles to get there.

/out/ activities aren't mutually exclusive either. You can occasionally climb mountains and still do other shit like hunting, fishing, boating, camping, or whatever unless you're one of those fags who only hikes mountains for the gram and does literally nothing else in the outdoors. Those people are gay. I agree.
