These are objectively the best three /out/ states in the nation. You can’t beat the ocean and they have everything.

The ocean sucks.
There's only three directions you can walk, it's fucking cold as fuck, and fish fuck in it.
The eastern deserts are cooler than the fucking gay ass ocean. Are you a woman by chance?

Considering the fact that I don't surf and hate following rules therefore a boat is out of the question(lmao get boarded by law enforcement whenever they feel like it) the Ocean is extremely overrated
and walking on sand is lame and gay
and you get forced to walk only up and down pretty much
the great lakes > the ocean
>lmao salt water
also
>rivers are way more fun

I think Cali needs to get it together. It's objectively worse whole oregon and washington are better.

Oceans are awesome. If you don't like the sea then you are fucked up in the head. All white people and especially Anglos and Germanics are descended from people who spent their time adventuring and exploring the seas.
That said, hiking near coasts is usually not as fun as hiking in the highest mountains. It's a different experience and even a different climate to be in rugged mountainous terrain.
The sea has a different ruggedness, and a different, stronger danger. If you have never been out in a row boat in stormy waters, I recommend it. The sea spray, the salty air, the vast flat horizon, the wind, the imminent danger as the big waves try to destroy you. It's definitely /out/.
For a less risky experience, trips where you canoe and also hike and camp around fjords in Norway are an excellent experience. Don't be afraid of water. And there's plenty of mountains right next to the water.
>inb4 Americans talk about a beach in California or about how there are too many people in popular places
You live on the biggest fucking continent, just find somewhere that's not a tourist destination, and explore it yourself, just to see whether you are personally capable of it. The more personal risk, the more fun it will be

I miss the days of growers basically turning the lost coast into a fortress. You think you are driving down a dirt road to hit a trail when suddenly some long haired hippy looking motherfucker steps out of the brush with a rifle in his hands and blocks the road. He will tell you to just turn around and go back unless you happen to know the right names to drop. Legalization ruined everything.

Trust me, I know. They have been driving up house prices to ridiculous levels. They sell their 2 bedroom shack in Torrance or some other hellscape hovel for 3/4 of a million and come up here with that money. I have family that works in real estate and they haven't sold property to a local resident since before covid. Local wages aren't even close to keeping up with the cost of housing because of this sudden influx of people fleeing cities. It is fun listening to them bitch about the weather though, it's like they expected LA weather, just a little cooler.
