i am a neet and a hikikomori and id like to start going for walks in the park (its a pretty big and nice park) but i am very scared of the sun
it messes up your skin really bad and gives you cancer
id like to preserve my skin but still maybe go out into nature because it's comfy, does /out/ know any way to stay safe from the sun?

Strictly speaking, pic related
In practice, getting a bit of sun will probably do your health more good than bad (assuming you don't get sunburn) so try to not wear all of that all the time.

i take vitamin d supplements and look out the window occasionally for sun, but it makes me feel gross having the sun touch my body
would gloves help? i was thinking of getting a neck gaiter too for more protection but i heard they dont do anything against the sun if they're not made of UltraPlastic(tm) and then putting suncreen (50spf) on any exposed areas, i also need to look into what kinds of UV radiation different kinds of sunscreen block

You need to be less neurotic my man.
Anyway. I'm quite pasty and I wear a long shirt, a legionnaires hat and long pants. Never had a problem with sunburn. Sun neck protection and sungloves probably exist, but that's overkill. Some companies make sun hoodies.

its not about sunburns but prolonged sun exposure damaging your skin over many years and making you wrinkle up and get skin cancer later
do normal hoodies have no effect on the sun or something? why is that the case if they're opaque?

>making you wrinkle up
You're a hikikomori, who cares how you look?
>get skin cancer later
10-20 people per 100k get skin cancer. And you bet this involves people who care jack shit how much UV they get. It's a non issue for people who take normal precautions against sunburn.
>do normal hoodies have no effect on the sun or something
Normal hoodies are way too hot to wear in the kind of weather that requires you to use sun protection. But they probably do block most UV.

Your perception of the risk of aging and skin cancer from sun exposure is way off. Just go outside, you’ll be fine.

If you're feeling autistic, I've seen some of the chink girls around my city going for walks with umbrellas to keep the sun off them, you could probably do that.

You mean, people that sit in the sun day in day out, 12 hours a day? Yeah. Now extrapolate how much being in the sun for, let's say, two hours every week, will do to your skin: Absolutely nothing.

Just stay in your room, anon. There's nothing for you out there.
You know what's outside? The sun. And you of all people know how bad the sun is. It poisons you. Do you see how the people who have been poisoned by the sun are behaving? They want you to be poisoned by the sun too. These prematurely aged and walking cancer cells all want you to join them in their suffering.
Just stay in your room. Watch a video of the outdoors. It's the exact same thing and you won't die of cancer unlike these fools.

Guess what also causes cancer? Being immobile. Guess what also causes aging? You guessed it. You are literally aging and increasing your chances of cancer by not doing any activity or sports (is my educated guess). Getting out, moving your legs, getting the blood flowing will only improve your health. Take some basic precautions like, cover your skin and by all means add some sunscreen on exposed spots, and you totally avoid all the negative side effects of getting sun.

tl;dr eat a shit ton of colorful fruit & vegetables every day

I work an out job in the desert with a ginger. He wears sun hoodies, a ball cap over the hood, and sun gloves and then covers the rest of his face with zinc and he doesn't burn. Sunbrellas do the job too. Just look at good desert outdoor gear, it's all about minimizing exposed skin. I do this all too except the zinc. But I also once I finish my work take off all my layers and sunbathe for at least a little each day. If im working alone ill sunbathe naked. It's good for you. It will physiologically make you happier if you let it.

Umbrellas are the go-to sun protection for hikers in the Southwest. It’s not even debatable. Heat-reflective umbrellas marketed toward hiking have been mainstream for 25 years. They’re popular on the East Coast for rain protection. There’s no way you don’t know about this.

There's various ways the sun could cause headache or similar unwellness
-Your eyes are not used to the light. Wear a hat with a long brim and sunglasses.
-Your head and neck got too much sun (causing sunstroke or light variants thereof through radiant heating of the tissue). Cover your head and neck with dense material.
-You are unused or simply unsuited for the heat. This varies by person. Drinking much and wearing airy clothing can help, as can physical fitness or simply acclimatization to the heat. I sometimes have similar issues when I first go out into the heat, but then get used to it. Try going out for shorter distances or stay in shadier areas like forests, early in the morning or late in the evening when it's cooler and less bright.
>is there any vitamin or nutrient to prevent sun sickness?
None I can specifically think of. Any given shortage could cause you problems though. If you sweat much, it might be electrolytes.

Sunlight is one of the healthiest things for your entire body, skin included.

Sunburns are the ONLY exception. Any and all sun exposure short of sunburn is purely beneficial. Risk of literally every single internal cancer has been shown to be drastically reduced by regular sun exposure and skin cancer is caused only by skin damage via sunburn. Sun exposure short of sunburn also reduces risk of skin cancer.
You are INCREASING your risk of every single type of cancer by avoiding the sun, retard.
