Bloatware is bad because it leads to poor performance, security risks, and a cumbersome user experience by adding unnecessary features and complexity. In essence, minimalist software respects the user’s time and resources, while bloatware can be seen as wasteful and intrusive.

FTFY. Bloatware isn't caused by features, it's caused by badly designed and inefficient software. A lot of powerful software packs a ton of features into a few kilobytes of code but bloatware needs 100 MB to do a simple thing like a calculator. C and Unix people's "minimalism" is the opposite of normal people's. Unix-like systems have minimal features with tens of millions of lines of code, but Right Thing software like Genera, Smalltalk, and Oberon are about packing as many features as possible into as little code as possible because the programmers use their brains and can recognize patterns and reuse the same components across the whole system.
