I have some nostalgia to both but I'm so glad their gone.
Sadly minidisc never quite took off as a proper successor to cassettes

There's a lot wrong with VHS but rewinding was never a serious problem. Like, are you actually going to watch the same 1.5~4hr video on repeat and can't get up to piss for 2 minutes? The store always had a rewinding machine on the return desk.
