If you just compare base model to base model with no scripts or tools, then Dall-E 3 is still much better than anything we have, but you can't compare it like that.

When Dall-E 3 launched, I was able to produce images with it that I could not replicate locally at all. There were things I would generate using Dalle instead of local. These days I don't think there is a single thing I want to use Dalle over local stuff. It's obsolete for me.
