++Also, Gemini is not a bad model in general for the actual RP (except for repetition issues) - why not try all of them yourself and see which 'gets' your waifu's personality the best? And every once in a while switch to another just to "refresh" the chat and make sure it doesn't fall into loops. Sorry, I am not entirely sure what you are asking, but generally I create lorebook entries manually, made in the lorebook tab; you create an entry, add a trigger word (primary keywords), then add the information that comes up whenever the trigger word is mentioned. You can also set it to permanent to have it on at all times. You can probably leave the rest of the settings at default - just use the trigger and the content, and make sure the lorebook is active (active world(s) for all chats, or you can embed it into a character card to keep it there permanently (character lore button, or link to world info under More). Also this ST might be outdated, so it might not look like this for you, I forget when I last updated it.
I think someone once made a script to automatically make lorebook entries, but I have no idea of the status on that, sorry...

Entry making is simple, e.g, if you wanted to add one about apples, you'd make the keyword word [apples, apple] (don't forget to account for plurals or variations or different keywords that would come up more naturally), and then in the content talk about it; "{{char}} likes apples - on her birthday, she discovered gravity when one fell on her head." Then, this information will be sent and put back into context for the AI to know.

For automating... I think it should be fine if you want to ask the llm to summarise what you want, like the previous example, ((OOC summarise what happened in this scene)), then clean it up a little, add any details you think are important that it has missed, and copy and paste it into an entry. It works for important key items, memories, anything. It isn't wholly automatic, sorry. Also you may have to do some tweaking to make sure it understands what happened chronologically, but it might be fine alongside a brief permanent summary. Unsure.

If you leave the lorebook on in active worlds, it will be on for all characters, and the entries will be triggered whenever you say the keyword.

1. I am not sure what you mean by unreliable; maybe people are just upset it is not in permanent context? But that is exactly what the lorebook is good for, to save tokens when the information is not currently relevant. If you think you can fit all that happens in card defs, and keep it brief enough to save tokens yet thorough enough for the AI to understand and not give a sad little halfhearted hallucination at what it thinks it means, absolutely go for it, but I am just not sure it is sustainable with the longterm RP you are going for.
2. I hope it does help. Don't worry about the standards of public JBs; there is no real standard, just write what you want to see instead of falling for memebait like one thousand toggles. Really, public JBs are just adhd zoomer bloat most of the time that has had more time spent trying to make it look pretty instead of actually good. Only you know what you want. JBs do not have to be long; in fact, I think that long JBs have the potential to be detrimental, either through trying to railroad the AI too hard to the point where its creativity is stifled, or by virtue of just being confusing. If you go ahead with using Claude, I would suggest playing with the prefill, it is quite fun - it can be just as powerful as the actual JB, if not more so (I would say more so), or just reinforce it well. You can even change the tone of your Claude with it (OK! Here's the story's continuation! / fuck off retard i'm lazy you fucking dickhead but fine here's your story continuation / I will continue writing the story in x format now, of the x genre / sex sex uoohhh uoohhhhh seeexxx.). Also, if you get filtered, prefills are your friend.

4. I think the proper summary prompt is the best idea as well, having a fully dedicated jailbreak you quickly switch to so that it focuses fully on that, it does not have to be too long. You can just put everything you want in the main prompt / jb (post history instructions), whichever seems to work better (I have no idea but I use PHI). In my opinion, it is best to have that paired with an OOC command to laser guide the AI. Claude prefill can also help with this one too. Your idea sounds perfect, with manual rewrites, you will capture all of the little bits that the AI might not recognise as important but you do. Make sure to run the summary prompt whilst everything is still in context (sometimes I forget when really in the RPing rhythm), and I would say just so that it does not try to capture everything (with you ending up with a very watered down version of a summary), don't make the context too high / demand too vague. Well, that is a bit anecdotal from me on both counts, maybe it is fine.
One more thing regarding certain models is just to be careful - some of them devolve really fast if you let isms or repetition through, so make sure you weed that out before it becomes a problem, the latter moreso than the former. Good luck, anon. If you have any more questions and I am around I would be happy to answer (though I apologise if my information is not quite accurate or correct, these are mostly just bits of "as I understand it"). I do not personally think it will break the magic, but that is quite a subjective thing to say. Still, modern models are far more intelligent than what we used to have, so I think there is a lot more of the suspension of disbelief one is willing to put up with. But as I said in the initial post, I plan for 80% of the chats to just be someone asking about my day and I won't need to change the defs past a sentence of my routine most times. 2. Yesss, examples is how I work best, thank you. 1. Ah, this, that's why I mentioned in one of the messages to account for variations, mhm. You can put in multiple keywords to make sure it somehow triggers. [ice cream, licking] and so, it is a bit finnicky, yes, but I think it can be mostly circumvented. Worst comes to worst, if you really have to force the keyword but have no way of naturally putting it into the chat... you can ooc invis text it, I'd say. I do understand the concern, but I am not entirely sure what to do about it myself, sadly, so I often have quite a few keywords. Which does sometimes have the unintended side effect of it actually triggering when I don't need it to if it is too generic... but yes, if that's all you're going for, honestly, that's completely doable.
2. Yeah, sadly I know this one quite well, so preferably I would try to make / edit the jb I want to see before I really dedicate myself to a chat. I really get it. You could also try a few test chats before the real meat? Remember that changes to jb mid rp may not be as prominent as on a fresh chat because of context too, though that's not to say they won't work. Ultimately, I don't have a whole lot of advice, since I built my jb over time by adjusting to what I thought was lacking/wanted to see, but I would really just say don't worry too much about the jb minmaxxing. Sometimes I play with a more human wording to try to tell it to consider defining moments, things that are more subtle that a machine will not care to pick up on, but this is still a work in progress that I usually end up having to manually do. Ah, also, I would keep the temp not very high on summary, I think. Penalties on that can be quite sensible, mine is 0.75/0/1 (basically default). You may want to ask it to be factual without introspection or without being too flowery or overly positive, too.
Those are good habits to have... pretty much. At this point I am pretty desensitised to them... it is better than having an aneurism every time I see half lidded eyelids or husky voice. It really is par for the course, basically a rite of passage.
