F8 and be there and all that sure, but in all honesty most serious war photographers now are using whatever has the highest burst rate and fastest autofocus, and they do that for a reason.
I'm not shitting on manual focus here, as I use a Leica rangefinder myself and really enjoy it, but I probably wouldn't bring it to a firefight.

The glasses, the urbanite facial hair, the Press patch, the casually held camera (“Look at me I’m serious a journalist!”), and the skinny jeans. The boots are not appropriate for the environment but are mostly fine.

That pictured does not show rolled hips as I understand it. Rolled hips is a common posture problem where you push your ass out backwards and torso forwards. The proper term is "anterior pelvic tilt" if that helps us get on the same page.

Clothes look pristine, that cap should be sweat stained to hell. The boots look "fashionably distressed", not fucked up in the field.
