Wristwatches were considered feminine prior to the 20th century as men's fashion much preferred pocket watches. There were a few attempts at men's wristwatches like the cartier santos in 1911 but they didn't become fashionable for men until after world war 1, and even then many older men still preferred pocket watches.

DW-5600. It has the classic G-Shock design and it's inexpensive. Since your wrist is small and these are big watches, the rectangular shape might be best; it'll look less like a dinner plate than a circular one.

Proper chunker. Quite heavy (more so with the bracelet, I reckon). Wears nicely though. Compact in spite of its size. The strap it came with is decent, a bit too stiff for my liking. Runs at +2/3s per day from what I noticed. The bezel is super satisfying to use.

That's the wrong way to look at accuracy. That's precision.

Accuracy is essentially how far you're allowed to be from the true time.
In the case of METAS, it's 5 seconds. In the case of Superlative, it's 2 seconds.

Precision is the spread of values..
A watch that is between 50 and 51 seconds fast every day is more precise than a watch that is between 0 and 3 seconds fast per day.

The straps new, but I did some homework on it. Late 60s to 70s the day-dates fonts go to either black or red + the crown would have the Longines logo on it. Mines only black font, and doesn't have the logo so I'm thinking it should be a pretty early model. The fella who fixed it up said it's over 55 years, but I didn't ask about exact dates. It's supposed to have a cool quick-set feature for the date where you push the crown in almost like a stopwatch, but I haven't quite got it working.

It's explained in the title.

This is the avatarfren thread, where frenposting (pics of food, talking about how your life is going, catching up with your frens, amusing banter, other interests like cars or music, etc) is encouraged. Watches may have brought us together but it's not all we talk about.

The non-avatarfren thread is just talking about watches. They don't want to be frens. They don't like frenposting. So they left and, for the most part, we stayed here. (PerpetualCalendarChad insists on trolling them, which I think most of us don't approve of, but we can't stop him either.) They gave us the /wt/ general and most of us respect that.

I just looked at them again, jlc master ultra thin collection has moonphases in 36 and 39. They even have perpetual calendars with moonphase at 39mm.

They also have a number of reversos with moonphase, of course, they can be thin enough to wear pretty small.

"Whoretadello". A name that struck fear and rage in the heart of the bitter. A man who lived a life of luxury and excess, surrounded by beautiful Japanese women, sushi and nice watches. But what made him truly infamous was his ability to make the bittercel seethe, simply by existing. No one knew much about him, only that he was Greek and had an uncanny resemblance to an anime character, Yuta Okkotsu. He had left his empty life in Germany to pursue his dream of finding a society that fit his outgoing lifestyle, his calm character and his love for cars. He found this in Japan.
Every once in a while,he would grace the /wt/ thread with his presence, posting pictures of his latest expensive watch, delicious meal or delicious woman. Without fail, bittercel would come out of the woodwork within literal seconds, spewing hate and insults towards him. Jealous of his lifestyle and his endless supply of beautiful japanese women. But Whoretadello had allies too. Those who admired his carefree attitude and his impeccable taste and those of similar,if not greater statue such as Omegadrunk and The Citizen The Citizen-poster that would bless the threads with their signature posts.United, they would defend him against the bittercel, causing heated arguments but also providing deep knowledge and detailed conversations about watches.
No one knew how he managed to live such a life in Japan, but rumors started to spread that he was involved in human trafficking.some even speculated that he was a member of the Yakuza. But no one could prove anything. As time went on, bittercels hatred towards him only grew stronger. Some even went as far as to try and dox him, but he always seemed to be one step ahead, becoming untraceable. And when he returned,it was always with a new watch and a new beautiful woman by his side.
The mystery of Whoretadello only added to his allure and his power over /wt/.
Living rent free in the heads of the Bitter, he marches on to spread his seed across Japan.
