What utensils / appliances are so retarded that they should die?

Picrel is retarded. It's called mashed potatoes not riced potatoes.
Why the hell would you rice 1 potato at a time, when you can mash the whole pot in 15 seconds like the Irish have been doing for years?
Post more utensils and appliances that piss you off.

can’t you just dice the potatoes smaller if you want “more uniformity”
Anyways for useless kitchen “gadgets” I’ll say garlic presses, fuck them, fuck cleaning them, they suck.

proves that he’s a mashlet and doesn’t know how to cook potatoes.
Add yogurt or sour cream to fix the texture while mashing if it offends you to have chunks.

You sound like the type of person that ads kimchi to a grilled cheese sandwich to spice it up with a little kick of the acidity.

No it’s for three star European michelin chefs that understand texture is a conductor of flavor.

Garlic presses are super convenient, extract way more flavour from garlic, and are super easy to clean
I'd say skill issue but it doesn't even take any skill, you're just plain wrong

it depends on the press. if it has really small holes like the Zyliss (popularized by the frugal gourmet) they are a pain in the ass to clean. I had one of those for decades and hated cleaning it every time. then I got pic related style and it is a thousand times better.

A moulinette will give you an even better result dor mashed potatoes or anything else in general. If you want some extremely fluffy purée you could also use an immersion blender. My dad makes his mash that way but nobody else in our family likes it that way.
