How do you befriend the crows and ravens?

I want to, but the ones around here fly away the second you move within 300ft of them.
I put out food in the side yard for my neighbor's chickens when they visit, but they don't pay attention to who is putting it out. Maybe our crows are just less intelligent than other types.

I do this, also with magpies, but I'm not that consistent with it since it's cold and I'm doing less incel walks, maybe like once a week or something. The only problem is that these fuckers are suspicious as fuck.
It's not as extreme as >>4936296 says but if I throw them a walnut they won't instantly go for it, usually they move away first to a tree or something, fly around for a while and usually just take it when I eithe start to go away or don't look at them directly
