Always been a dog person, until i got my own place (few places for rent allow pets where i live) and decided to adopt a pet.
this 3 month old girl was found sick and alone after a big storm and i fell in love.
100% get all the hype for cats now, although i wouldn't go to say they are better than dogs.

I used to walk past an animal shelter on my way to work and this cat in the window used to follow me from one end of the enclosure to the other as I walked by. One Saturday, I sat at a cafe nearby that afforded me view of the window to the shelter from the outdoor seating but where the animals inside wouldn't be able to see me, really. I noticed that the cat didn't follow anyone else passing by. The following Monday, I went in, filled out paperwork, paid whatever fees were necessary and took him home. He was a great cat but only because he was very dog-like with me but aloof and cat-like with everyone else. He came when I called, he seemed legitimately excited to see me when I came home, was quite affectionate and he was just a generally neat little guy.
I still don't like cats.
