They're legitimately the most soulful animal games to have ever been made, the games just exude soul in every corner.
Many people argue weather or not ZT1 or ZT2 is better but I personally prefer ZT2 due to its soundtrack.

Admittedly this is more plant focused, but you can recruit a pangolin to go mining for you (also some weird ghost butterfrly-squirrel-dragon things), and seek the aid of five animal gods. Tiger water goddess, bird storm god, bee construction god, snake time god, and stag death god.
But yea, it's mostly about spreading water and plant life accross a desertified planet.

I'm really glad they finished their game. The original was boring as fuck, and before they tied up the gameplay loop into actual progression, the game felt quite tedious.
This time however, everything felt like it had purpose because I'm not just raising pups, I'm also raising the same pups that will help me hunt next year. Also the hex system was not quite as tedious to maintain because rival packs can only steal like 2 hexes every other day or so, instead of everything constantly deteriorating.
The people moderating the multiplayer community for this game all these years are just two moms btw. For decade+ of underage furfag piss rp, it's been THESE girls who clean it up.

oh shit, I just thought I was extra bad at the game when I cheated but that might have been the reason why it was still kinda challenging

prehistoric kingdom just released a teaser for the upcoming content, they're currently working on babies/juveniles and later on herding, disease mechanic, paleobotany and terrariums, the latter of will include compy, yi qi and grandpa himself
sadly the devs announced they are running low on budget and have just opened a pateron to recoup it, seems like the dino-game curse may take another one

I’ll throw Ark out there it’s probably my favorite game but right now I’m playing Let’s Build a Zoo and it’s pretty good.
It is basically a zoo game just like zoo tycoon on the surface, and it is, you just make exhibits and build hotdog stands and shit and manage your economy, but underneath the hood the meat and potatoes of the game is more like a farm SIM. To expand your zoo (you start off with one acre of land on the map and have to buy more increasingly expensive acres to expand) you need to make a lot of money and you can build like a goat milking facility to sell milk or a glue factory to sell horse hoofs (if your animals die they leave behind certain resources). So right now I’m trying to get a horse glue farm going to try to finance this thing, and I just got an item that allows you to auto-cull your animals based on age or weight or whatever so I have a pen with a million horses in it like the humpback whale pic and some guy on duty culling all the old, infertile horses and some other dudes on carcass duty extracting all the hoofs and meat and shit turning it into glue and using the excess meat to feed my wolves and shit so I don’t have to spend money on meat (most of your expenses as far as I can tell is animal feed, that always takes like 3/4ths of my money every time I have to re-up).
And there’s also a morality meter like Knights of the Old Republic, so like, culling your horses and turning them into glue makes you evil, however it’s an easy way to make money. But you can also take the good path and not sell horse glue and instead have a goat pasture where they free range and make cheese, and you get different perks depending on which route you take. I just went evil off the bat because it’s easier since most of your resources are dead animals like what are you gonna do with them? Most of the “evil” choices aren’t even that evil IMO. Like why can’t you turn your snakes into belts when they die like what’s the big deal?
